Part 1: Education and Social-Emotional Well-Being – A Close Look at the Zones of Regulation and The Links between Positive Mental Health and Academic Success

Positive mental health is the key to success. As adults, we know that a positive mindset can breed success. It is no different in our children. Using concrete evidence, this lecture features the connections between positive mental health and the academic success of children. Mood, an “on vs. off” day, or frustrating moments in a child’s work productivity can all impact success. In this lecture, we learn how to begin to anticipate how to help our children and students reset quickly which, in turn, will help them avoid letting their difficult moments influence their academic success.
Part 2: Education and Exceptionalities – Supporting the Whole Child (TBA)
Parents often ask how they can support and encourage their children to be academically successfully. During this lecture, we explore the “Whole Child” philosophy and the concept of supporting our under-served and under-performing students. While this can include children on formal Individual Education Plans (IEPs), this really applies to any child. We also explore children identified as “ELL” (English Language Learners), or those who fall behind due to frequent absences.
